Bang Tao Beach, Phuket
Phukets Bang Tao beach is the home of many high class resorts
Bang Tao is north of Surin Beach, and about about 12kms north of Patong. It also has the Laguna complex at the north end. The Bang Tao/ Cherng Talay area is about 6kms by 6kms , is flat and also has a large Muslim Village in the area. There is not a lot of attractions, apart fom the beach.
Bang Tao beach access can be a pain, as the Resorts dominate the beachfront, but there are some alleys that allow you to walk down to the sand. You will see Banana Rock in the distance, a great place to fish and snorkel. Another gallery page gives details here.
The Laguna complex has a large expat presence, so there are some local bars and restaurants in the area to cater for them, but generally Bang Tao is quiet, and would be a good place to stay for relaxation.
