Banana Rock, Surin Beach
Banana Rock is a small rocky island about 2 kilometers offshore from the north end of Surin, or just West of Bang Tao Beach on the West Coast of Phuket
It is a fantastic Scuba Diving site as well as snorkeling and fishing. It is impractical to go ashore here, as the rocks have very sharp and jagged edges. It can be reached by hiring a longtail boat, normally by the hour. These can be chartered from the south end of Kamala, or Bang Tao beach north of Patong. Our Phuket Maps Page will help you navigate. Expect to pay around 200Bt per hour for a longtail. The usual precautions should apply, sunscreen, hat, lots of water, towel, and a change of clothes brought along. Include in your cruise a stop at one of the restaurants found in small secluded bays as you travel north.
